About Shadiyah
Shadiyah is a professional Middle Eastern / Belly Dance artist based
in the Washington, DC, MD and VA areas.  A student of dance since
the age of five, she has trained & studied classical ballet under the
tutelage of Terry Hazel (Royal Academy of Dance syllabus), tap, jazz,
modern, Liturgical, German and Italian folkloric, Egyptian cabaret &
Folkloric dances, Lebanese, Turkish, American Tribal style, Moroccan,
Classical, Folk & Contemporary Persian, and Bollywood Filmi,
Bhangra and Mujra dancing.  She has also studied several Classical
Indian dance styles including, Bharatanatyam, Kuchipudi, and
Khatak.  Exclusively in 1999, her dreams were realized as she
ventured into the wonderful and culturally diverse world of Middle
Eastern/South Asian Dance.  

Shadiyah's dedication to the art continues though education and
research on the history, cultures & various dances of the Middle East.
Through individual dance training Shadiyah's emphasis is on
Egyptian, Lebanese, Bollywood & Persian styles of dance.  She trains
with private lessons & attends workshops around the country with
some of the top international performers/instructors including Sahra
Saeeda, Miriam Peretz, Lotus Niraja, Aziza of Montreal, Orit Maftsir
of Isreal, Faten Salama, Yoursy Sharif, Nourhan Sharif, Zaza Hassan,
Raqia Hassan, Fifi Abdo, Dr. Mo Geddawi & Randa Kamal of Egypt,
and many more!

A well known & favorite performer in the Indian and Persian
communities, her specialties include, Bollywood/Filmi Bhangra and
Mujra dance, Classical & contemporary Persian dance along with
various tray and balancing dances showcasing amazing floor work as
well as Wings of Isis.  Fusing all these beautiful art forms into a style
uniquely her own,
Shadiyah's elegant and graceful style captivates
audiences of all ages.

Shadiyah may be seen performing nationally as well as locally at
select area venues from Gaithersburg and Frederick to Baltimore and
Richmond.  She made her
New York City debut at Lafayette Grill on
September 1, 2006 and as a quest, performed and taught on the
Queen Elizabeth II Ocean Liner in January 2006.  She is available for
private functions including, Embassies, Universities, corporate events,
concerts, art galleries, bar/bat mitvah's, weddings, engagements,
henna/sangeets. bridal showers, birthday parties, princess parties for
children, quincenera's, all female gatherings, graduations, retirement
homes and more!  

Her family friendly, energetic, and graceful performances are
appropriate for people of all ages
.  Shadiyah will work with you to
customize your special event, to accommodate various cultural and
religious sensitivities and to ensure a wonderful and memorable
experience for everyone!
